since the summer before my sophomore year of high school, i've used M4RK as a showcase for my music. ever since Agitato came out, i already knew that this would be used for the music i've made during high school and nothing more. since i'm about to start my first year of college, this project has to come to an end. alas, i will still be making music, just under my real name, which is Samuel Haefner.

my dad a few days ago wrote down "the gales of november came early this year" in a notebook of mine. he was referencing a lyric from The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. while reading this i was listening to the debut album by The Shrug Machine, an album composed of improvised material. i got extremely inspired to do something like this, and i wanted a way to sort of say farewell to this wonderful project. so, all nine of these songs were recorded in the span of a few hours, with some of them being written on the spot. it's a different sort of album, but i hope you enjoy it all the same.

of course, i have to thank some people for making this album possible:

my grandmother, who always let me play the piano at her house whenever i felt like it.
